Two Types of Healers

There are two types of healers. One type of healer gives their whole character and all that they have to their clients. Sounds benevolent, but imagine how you feel doing this several times, day after day: drained and exhausted.
The other type of healer opens up to a source greater than their singular individuality—an energy beyond their egoic self—and allows that unlimited energy to flow through the session. As long as the power source goes beyond the confines of our personality, it doesn’t matter what language you use. Some common references are Mother Earth, Father Sky, God, infinite intelligence, Tao, the mystery, cosmic self, etc., pick the language that empowers you. Allow a power greater than your own being to surge in you, through you and beyond you. Imagine yourself as a hollow bone, an empty tube, or clear channel for healing energy to move through.
How do you think you’ll feel after you’ve allowed this infinite energy to move through you several times, day after day? Everyone I’ve spoken with talks about feeling more energized, vitalized and inspired. And I believe this is an aspect of the ideal nature of holistic healing: to receive as much benefit from the session (if not more) than you’re client.
Its hard work always giving up and giving away your personal energy (Carolyn Myss speaks about going into energetic debt because you’ve maxed out your daily credit). But when you allow impersonal, universal energy to move through, you become uplifted, energized, and the entire cosmos is the only limit!
